An In-Depth Guide on How To

Transition Into Shooting Your Dream Concepts for Brands, & Get Paid More While Doing It.

It’s time to reconnect you with your craft.

If you’re feeling disconnected from photography, dreading going to shoots, and overall just feeling trapped in an industry that feels mentally and physically exhausting, we gotta fix that.

If you find yourself getting FOMO while looking through editorials and ads in magazines or scrolling through Tumblr, Pinterest or Insta and just feel down on yourself wishing you could be creating shoots like that for brands like that. Well guess what, you totally can. And you will.

The fact that you are yearning for and attracted to that aesthetic and industry is because you are meant to be doing it. That is what your heart, mind and creative soul are pointing you to.

Because guess what?

You don’t HAVE to be shooting exhausting weddings and dealing with high stress family members or fussy newborns in the intense heat of summer. You don’t HAVE to make the same annoying small talk with random uncles about your camera gear over and over because they took a photo class back in ’87.

Have More
Creative Control

You my dear, day dream of shooting fashion editorials. Or having quiet afternoons shooting product in your own home/studio. You want to work alongside a well organized team and just overall have more creative control and be doing less physical labor. But making the switch from shooting weddings or portraits feels impossible. I get it, I was there once too. I sincerely almost quit photography as a whole because I felt like it wasn’t realistic. But it so is.

Why I switched
to Commercial Photography

I’ve been doing photography professionally for about 8 years now, and for the first 5 of those years, I focused on portraits, families and weddings. I LOVED my clients, but my love for photography was fading. I was stressed, physically and mentally exhausted, and only making enough money to barely get me by. I got anxiety going to shoots, because I knew it just meant more work. I realized I simply wasn’t made to shoot weddings and couples but felt like that is what I had to do to stay afloat and support myself. I had big dreams of the type of work I wanted to create. I felt like I could never create such editorial work due to feeling like I could only make money shooting weddings and families in my home state of Utah. It was depressing and I was so ready to be done.

I felt like I could only make money shooting weddings and families.

Does this sound familiar?

Find the type of work that sparks your passion and natural talent.

Now, there is NOTHING wrong with shooting weddings, families, newborns, etc. That type of work is so needed and beautiful. It’s just not what I was built to do. I’m not good at it honestly. I could easily shoot fun editorials for myself using my friends and build these stunning sets. But as soon as someone asked me to shoot their family? Game over. My mind would go utterly blank. I felt like I sucked at photography, but in reality, I’m really good. I just needed to find the type of work that sparked my passion and natural talent. And that was in the commercial industry.

Since I switched to shooting commercial, I have been able to work for over 50 amazing brands like Norman Silverman, Maude, James Street and June Rings. I’ve been published in prints like British Vogue and People Magazine.

And I pinch myself every damn day thinking how proud younger me would be of myself right now. Now, I get EXCITED to shoot and create concepts for clients. I have more than tripled my income. My work is better than it’s ever been. I have more time to live my life outside of my career. And most importantly, my mental health is so much better. I’m living the life I wanted so badly, creating the shoots I dreamed of, and getting paid way more for doing much less.

After going through my own trial and error of transitioning and shooting commercial work, I knew I had to help other people who felt similarly.

I’ve had so many inquiries asking to teach a course or do mentorships for this exact purpose. So I am so beyond excited to announce:

I believe success should be accessible to everyone, and I have done my very best to create a product that will nurture and make space for that personalized abundance.

  • Please do not do this! This is considered theft. Educators work hard to provide an impactful product and price it accordingly for each individuals consumption. Could you imagine going to a college and asking to split the cost of tuition with another person who will be taking the same classes as you? Or going to a movie theater and trying to get two people in for the price of one ticket? Probably not going to happen. This is because the value lies within what each indivual person will take away from the experience. Please be courteous of the hard work educators and artists put into their work.

  • No refunds will be issued, so please feel free to reach out with any other questions before you decide to purchase the course!
